1. The first step to prevention - Vaccination Make sure your child’s vaccines are up to date with National Immunization Schedule 2. Regular annual checkups WHO recommends that children be screened for Height & weight, Tooth decay, Refractive errors, Hearing disturbances 3. Practice good hygiene Teach them to wash their hands, especially before and after meals, after using the toilet and after blowing their nose, avoid sharing food and drinks when they are sick, cover nose and mouth while coughing or sneezing be careful with the use of personal items such as combs, hats, and scarves. It is best to avoid sharing such items. 4. Deworming Deworming either annually or biannually helps in better absorption of nutrients, thus preventing several avoidable illnesses.
